Summary
During the Siege of Suchdol, Hans started seeing Henry dying over and over again, and it just – kept – happening.
Hans wasn’t sure if he could trust his own mind anymore. Perhaps he had gone mad from all the stress and hunger, or perhaps he was simply in Hell and being tortured for his sinful lust for his squire. But one thing was certain – he needed to put an end to this nightmare.
He needed to save Henry.

Summary
After months together, hidden away at the Devil’s Den, Henry and Hans return to Rattay, where a harsher reality awaits them. The arranged wedding looms, and it seems impossible to continue their forbidden relationship, now that so many watchful eyes are set on them. To make matters worse, Bohemia falls ever deeper into chaos while somewhere in the shadows, a vengeful Erik waits for another chance to strike. It would be most prudent to bury their hopeless love for the sake of their duties.
But young hearts burn bright, and the lovebirds aren’t exactly known to make the wisest decisions.

Summary
Snow rested heavily over the town. The streetlights were few and far between and seemed to cast more shadows than light. But the moonlight above reflected on the untouched snow and illuminated the night. Snowflakes drifted down in large clots, and faintly, Hans could hear the hum of the refrigerator.
It was late, and it would be a few more hours until sunlight spilled over the region. But as Hans sat there at his desk with his knee bouncing, even with how heavy his eyes felt he couldn’t look away from his computer. His heart rate remained steady, but as he reviewed his post over and over again, the temptation to delete it grew stronger and stronger.
This terrible feeling of guilt. This welcomed shame that clung to his nerves and made him shaky. He had only himself to blame but it’s become too much.
How did he become so pathetic?

"See? I just knew it," Hans says, poking Henry's chest. "I knew you’d be too damn hairy. Look at all this. You're practically a barbarian."
Henry's snort is fond when it leaves his lungs, more exhale than sound. "You're hairy too," he offers graciously, flicking his eyes down a pale chest. His memory conjures up images of blond tufts—darkened with water, clustered beneath a navel, peeking coyly from under an armpit—before he banishes them. "It's just hard to see on your arms and legs, cause your hair is so fine. It makes your skin look soft," he adds, crazily, airing a thought that should have been kept barred and bolted.
"Do you think about my skin often, blacksmith's boy?"
"No." Henry is distracted; Hans's finger is twisting around his chest hair, an entirely new sensation for Henry's body. His spine tingles. "Maybe. I dunno."

Hans keeps insisting that Henry share his bed. A very normal and platonic thing to do.
