William briefly ran his thumb over his lip. A wave crashed onto the small island. The wave washed over a sharp rock, causing splashes of water to fall onto Mikkel and William.
They stared at each other under the dark night sky.
The merman leaned down, leaving a small gap between their faces. "Then I shall."
William just wanted to live freely as a merman. Dreadful years of labor at the tavern. Sorrowful years of blending in with species that kills merfolk for sport. Life was at a standstill—until, his curiousity leads to a captivating knight on a ship. Little did he know, he was the Grand Master Knight in the Kingdom of Dragunhuld: Mikkel Wiseheart.

Summary
This was supposed to be normal. Romantic.
Will drove over to Mike's college after finishing his finals to surprise him right before winter break. Everything was perfect, until Mike receives a phone call from his mother informing him of a family emergency. The two decide to set off for a 678 mile road trip back to Hawkins, coming all the way from Philadelphia.
What they expected was a smooth trip. Though, the universe had malevolent plans.

The forest's creatures are cruel and unforgiving—especially under a full moon. Though, one creature in particular, a curious dryad had its eye on a strange being that trekked among the forest. It was a knight, who seemed to have strayed a long way from his kingdom. His armor looked of royal attire, and a big red heart on his back that implied an invitation for desire.

“I’m the dealer, you’re the player.” Mike’s hand pushed the deck towards Will.
“Okay. What’s the catch?”
“The catch…” Mike echoed. He inserted the cigarette between his lips once more, inhaling before speaking.
Will listened intently for the game’s instructions.
“I’ll always stand at seventeen. If you deal more than twenty-one, I have to tell you to do something. If you deal exactly at the cap, or more than my stand, then…”
Will leaned his head back a bit. Oh.
“Then I get to tell you what to do.” Will finished Mike’s sentence under his breath.
After finishing their fourth semesters in college, the gang is back in town to visit their friends and family for summer break. Mike and Will were expecting a simple bowling night with the boys. What they didn't expect was the inescapable tension—feelings that piled up for years—finally erupting to the surface after playing games.

There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time update this and take a crack at finishing it. (Links and Images are in, the new Audio and Video tags are not.)
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.

Nancy returns to Hawkins for her father's funeral as a very different Nancy Wheeler than her friends and family are familiar with. But she's good at pretending to be who they remember her as. Pretends that she let go of her violent tendencies and hadn't channeled them through targeting rapists. Pretends she doesn't know how to perfectly hide a body. Pretends she's satisfied with her independent but isolated life.
When she runs into a troubled Robin with a problem on her hands, Nancy struggles to pretend that she isn't still hung up on a moment that changed their friendship ten years ago. But the problem ends up being Vickie's husband, who Robin may have, accidentally, murdered.
