"Vulcans only mate when in Pon Farr (I realize that's not canon, but work with me here). But Spock, being half-human, experiences normal human sexual urges, thoughts, arousal. From a very young age, he is taught that his desires are unnatural, freakish, horrifying. Possibly he's punished for getting an erection, waking up with sticky sheets, maybe even when someone senses he's aroused (smell, touch telepathy, whatever).
"So basically, Spock knows next to nothing about sex (except that it's Bad with a capital B) and is deeply ashamed of his desires. Cue some h/c in the form of K/S, yes? Yes."

Hiding from some aliens, Spock finds himself pressed up against McCoy who quickly, reluctantly, sports an erection. This in itself would be fine, Spock can shrug of a human's lack of self control, except it turns out McCoy is hung like a fucking horse.
