Summary
This is a fanfiction my mother wrote on a typewriter with her siblings in the 60's when she was a teenager. I'm transcribing it onto AO3 to preserve for fandom history and also because it's genuinely a good read.
Three siblings found in space by the USS Enterprise suddenly get roped into the mad adventures of Captain James T. Kirk and his crew as they explore the newly discovered "Planet Z". However, things seem to be getting stranger the longer they stay there.

Maddie might be in over her head. Just maybe.
One second she was a forty year old woman with a husband and child and a stable career in Las Angeles, and the next it was the day after her high school graduation and she was back in Hershey. So now she's driving cross country with her nine year old brother to start a new life in LA. Just the two of them, away from all the grief and loneliness back in Hershey. Does she have any plans to get back to her future? Not sure. Is she determined to give this version of her baby brother a proper childhood filled with the love and attention he should have had before? You betcha. And maybe fixing a few other things along the way wouldn't hurt...
Yeah. Definitely in over her head.

The Jason Todd of now was not the Jason Todd who had died. No, literally. Current Jason was a clone of the dead Robin. How did he know? Well, for starters, people don't come back from the dead, Superman excluded. But also, Jason Todd wasn't angry. He didn't have claustrophobia. And he DEFINITELY didn't have a mallen streak. Current Jason Todd had all of those things and more. So clearly something was amiss. And he was gonna prove it.

Summary
The AU where Bobby adopted Evan when he was six years old, and then twenty years later Eddie joins the 118 and starts dating Buck... and no one initially realises that Evan and Buck are, in fact, the same person. Part 1 is the story of the identity shenanigans and the reveal.
Part 3 is a collection of missing scenes from the original story, while Parts 4 ('how it could have gone') and 5 ('another way it could have gone') are outtakes and depict two different scenarios where the reveal of Buck and Evan being the same person go a different way.
Part 2 'oh captain my captain' is a prequel and shows the 118 meeting Bobby and then later on Evan.
Part 6 'these are the days we've been waiting for' is the story of Buck's first day at the 118.
Part 7 'may you live in interesting times' is a sequel to that takes place about a year or so later, and Part 8 'I once was lost (but now I'm found)' directly follows on and is a full-length sequel and prequel to the main story.
This series as it is now is standalone and can be considered complete. The only reason I haven't marked it as such is because I do expect to be adding additional installments at some point in the future. Happy reading!

“Well,” Kon says, staring at Red as he twirls his swords with a dramatic flair of movement before they poof out of existence. “Uh, yes? Probably?”
Robin sighs heavily. “What powers does he have?”
“Sword,” Bart says.
Robin makes an annoyed puff – he’s gotten so touchy about describing things with one word, after Red had told them all about how Robin had asked him to teach him “knife”. Her, Bart, and Kon have since made a game out of seeing who can apply the same tactics to get the best rise out of their chronically sleep deprived teammate.
“Fire Sword,” Cassie adds in, for clarity’s sake. Can’t let Robin be confused, after all. He hates not knowing everything.
“You guys are being assholes on purpose,” Robin grouses.

When Red Hood stops in on one of the Team's missions, he helps them fight against shadowy figures that can't be touched. By destroying them with flaming swords he summoned out of thin air.
