It’s so intimate that Buck is dizzy with it. Evan. No one calls him Evan. He didn’t think he wanted anyone to call him Evan anymore until the first time he heard the name fall from Tommy’s lips; effortlessly, delicately, with no baggage or scolding or expectations. Summary
It happens fast and without precedent. Something cute happens between the main characters in the movie and Buck turns to smile at Tommy. Tommy smiles back and leans in for what Eddie thinks was supposed to be a quick peck but, almost like they can’t help it—like they forget they’re not supposed to—one peck turns into two quickly turns into full-on making out.
Eddie watches as they get a little lost in each other’s mouths. Maybe he should be uncomfortable—that would be a normal reaction to two of your friends making out less than two feet away from you—but Eddie just feels hot all over. He doesn’t say anything, doesn’t remind them of his presence. Helplessly, desperately, he just watches.

It was a hair thin trigger that had been switched the moment he caught sight of his boyfriend and the whole world could’ve stopped for all Eddie knew. Buck was staring down at his hands, breathing way too fast, and drowning in some kind of panic that only he could see.
“Eddie?” Carla called. “Is everything all right?”
Something must have shown on his face if she took the phone away from Christopher.
“My hands won’t work,” Buck said so quietly.

Sal’s hand itches to settle on Eddie's waist to hold him close. “Sorry, didn't realize.”
“I didn't say you needed to stop.” And when Eddie pulls back a little, his hair’s falling over his forehead and his cheeks are pink from alcohol, and Sal needs to go.
He excuses himself quickly and ends up in a hall past the bathrooms that probably leads to the back of the building. He's half tempted to find out, because he's forty-three and he has a crush.
