Summary
Nobody has seen the hero Karkat since the dream bubble.
He was not your most frequent visitor before it all. That honor, of course, goes to the hero Dave and his many hours spent under your watch. Usually, though, where the hero Dave goes so too does the hero Karkat.
Today, after one too many days without his familiar too-brash yells, you have put Can Town aside. It’s been long enough that a worry has seeped into your heart.
Your name is the WAYWARD VAGABOND, and you refuse to let the hero Karkat isolate himself any longer. You know, all too well, how that isolation hurts. He has the option of being surrounded by his peers, unlike your time in exile, and you will not let him forget this truth.

OR: The Wayward Vagabond and the hero Karkat finally talk about leadership and the losses that come with it.
Note: This fic, moreso than any other one-shot in this series, assumes knowledge of the previous fic. It can be read as stand-alone, but some parts will be confusing if you have not read No Secret’s Safe Forever. A brief summary is included in the opening notes.

Summary
Your name is the ALLEGIANT REVERENCE, and you have a lot of work to get done today.
First, of course, the dishes. Though you have access to many resources as a result of the alchemical tools the gods left behind, you do not yet have fully-functional dishwashers. They were surprisingly difficult to synthesize, given their size and intricacy. You know there’s a team of mechanics working on them out there somewhere, but for now you must wash every dish individually. It is methodical work, precise and careful in a way that you have grown far better at in the past few years.
Next, your Wondrous Virtue’s plants. The garden out back does not need tending to at the moment, but you follow a strict routine for your partner’s plants. She claims that the green helps liven up the can, helps make it feel like home. You pretend not to notice the way both he and your Precious Merit watch them when they are reminded of the time between your death and your revival.
It was a long three years, for both of them.

Summary
Your name is the PROSPITIAN MONARCH and, though you are exhausted from years of chasing after Jack Noir, you will never stop fighting for vengeance.
Not with the glimpses of your fellows you catch out of the corner of your eye each and every time you slow down. Not when you can see the blood on your hands when you squint. Not when you know just how much pain he caused.
Who they appear as changes from time to time. Sometimes it’s the Windswept Questant, guiding your sword in clean arcs; calling out when he slashes back so you can dodge out of his way; pointing out the flaws in his defense. Sometimes it’s the Writ Keeper, whispering gentle assurances in your ear; pulling you back so a fresh wound can scab over; listing off names of the soldiers you got killed.
Most of the time, it’s the Armaments Regent.

Or: The memory of AR haunts PM until they're both able to get closure.

Summary
Your name is the PROSPITIAN MONARCH, and as Jack Noir twists in the air, you know he’s going to try to flee once more.
That can not happen. You take in a deep breath.
You can not stop. You have to remember what was taken from you, what you were complicit in. You have to remember the joy of those moments, so that you can force yourself for the thousandth time to race after his rapidly-disappearing form.
For one moment, you close your eyes to remember.

Summary
Your name is the WORLDLY VETERAN, and you know, to some degree, what memories this dream bubble is built from. You recognize the ground beneath you as your Skaia, not the Skaia of the session that came before yours. The specifics of who remembers it like this are lost to you, given the endless expanse of doomed timelines that could have contributed, but it is nonetheless a figment of your home.
There’s something nice about being here again. Despite everything, you have always loved the checkerboard of grass and ferns at your feet, have always adored the rolling hills and infinite skyline, have always loved Skaia and everything she had to offer.
You pause, for a moment, to take it all in.
--
OR: The Worldly Veteran explores a version of Skaia seen in the memories of one of the dead heroes along with the heroes Dave and Karkat, before stumbling across a scene he'd rather had been left forgotten.
