“Are you excited for the game against Rumson on Friday?” Van asks, pausing abruptly and gasping as soon as she finishes her last word, she smirks before speaking again, “You're going to see your girlfriend!” She says, jumping back into step with Natalie.
Nat glares at her before rolling her eyes, “Lottie isn't my girlfriend. Stop projecting your fantasies onto us. She's so fucking stupid, I hate her.” Nat rambles slightly, her dislike for Lottie had never been subtle. Well, she didn't particularly like anyone from Rumson. She believed that they were all, ‘stupidly rich teenagers who live on daddy's money.’ Was she wrong? No… Not generally, at least.

Lottie and Nat play baseball for rival schools, Natalie never got over her feelings from when she was eleven, and still (somewhat) blames Lottie for everything.

The later it got, the more they drank. Nat stumbled to stand up, “I should—” she starts, almost falling “go back up to the sheep. Watch until morning.”
“In this state? Fuck no. You won't even make it up there without falling off your horse or some shit.” Lottie protests, they were both out of it, yet Lottie could still tell what was a stupid idea.
Yeah… you're probably right. I'll head up at first light, sleep out here ‘til then.”
Lottie nods, heading into her tent. She knew it was bound to get colder at night, so she grabbed one of the extra blankets and threw it at Nat. “You'll get cold. For when the fire runs out. Don't freeze your ass off.”
Nat chuckles at that, positioning herself, very sloppily, to get comfortable. “G’night, Lottie."
“Goodnight, Nat."
