Summary
He noticed him while walking to the lake one day, when they were lagging behind the rest of the Party on purpose to walk as a pair, and the cheery yellow sunlight flashed on the secretive smile he shot at Mike.
He noticed him when they went to the comic store together, browsing for nothing in particular, and Will flipped through a stack of Batman editions and listed why each one was poorly written.
He noticed him on a quiet night in the basement, when Will dozed off sometime during their third movie and slumped against the arm of the couch, drool pooling over his bottom lip as his expression smoothed into peaceful rest.
So, Mike is noticing things. And it’s- strange. He stares at his bedroom ceiling, still dressed and lying on the floor. He frowns as he runs through the mental catalogue of times that he acted weird. Then, before he can think any better of it, he reaches under his bed and pulls out his walkie-talkie, extending the antenna.
“Lucas,” he says, “Lucas, do you copy?”
Mike knows what's going on. Really, he's not stupid. He just... needs to talk to someone else about it first, alright?

Summary
After so many years of proofreading essays (although Mike is a far better writer, out of the two of them) he knows that handwriting better than his own. Even without the essays, he would probably still know it. Mike has always had surprisingly nice handwriting, scrawling and loopy in a beautifully organic way, flowing easily from one word into the next. It strikes him harder than expected, just because he hasn’t seen it in so long. It looks like it’s only gotten prettier with time.
He lifts the papers out and focuses on the first page. 8/20/85 is printed neatly in the top right corner, like it’s a school assignment, and he’s going to get marked down if he doesn’t include the date.
Hey, it reads at the top.
We all know that Mike isn't capable of ignoring Will for very long.

Summary
“Alright, just get up here.”
“...What?” Will says.
They’ve established some de facto rules in the past year. Of course, Will had been in the basement at first, scrunching himself onto the battered couch while his brother snored on a spare mattress on the floor across the room, but after about six months, he had been ready for a change, and had taken Mike up on his offer of a sleeping bag on his bedroom floor. He’s beginning to regret it by now, but- at least Mike doesn't snore like Jonathan.
Ergo, for almost twenty-three weeks now, he and Mike have been doing this dance. It has rhythms, it has rules, even if they’ve never said them aloud. Whatever Mike is doing now… this is not in the rules.
“The bed, just get in the bed. C’mon, I won’t bite.”
It turns out, finding a decent place to sleep in a house that's just a little too full isn't the easiest thing to do. That being said, this might be worse (better) than the floor.

Summary
Will chuckles, only slightly short of breath. “Wow, you’re having fun, huh-” he grins wickedly- “sweetness?”
Mike just rolls his eyes, leaning leisurely against the inside of Will’s thigh and continuing to give him the most casual blowjob he’s ever received. Will is along the same train of thought, though- they aren’t in any particular rush, and they have the house all to themselves for two more days, so no one’s going to walk in on them. He’s content to take his time, enjoy his boyfriend’s company, and lounge in bed for far longer than they usually would.
“Hmm, guess not,” Will muses. He gives the ceiling a fleeting glance, sighing quietly, basking in the moment. “What about sweet thing?”
Mike meets his eyes to give him a look that says are you stupid?

Summary
A near-death experience inspires Gimli to reveal feelings he has been long-suppressing, feelings that Legolas discovers he returns full-fold. They quickly move to exploring one another's bodies, and soon discover the differences between elvish and dwarvish lovemaking (even if they don't yet know all the words). But as different as they and their people are, they've always fit together perfectly...so surely this will be no exception?
"Gimli," he murmured, his words half-muffled in the beard that covered the dwarven neck he nuzzled, "Gimli, may I touch you?"
"Daft fool elf," Gimli panted in return, "what do you call this?"
"No, I mean—I mean all of you," Legolas explained, his voice gone low and half-breathless beneath the weight of his words. "I mean your skin, Gimli, your body…"
Mainly an excuse to record and share my needlessly in-depth headcanons about dwarven and elvish bodies and sexual practices in explicit detail. In other words: porn what porn? This is pure world-building in a veneer of smut. (Spoiler: also plenty of porn.)

Summary
“It’s got such a presence to it, even from a distance,” Bilbo says softly, and there’s a general murmur of awed agreement from the others. “Why, in all my fifty years, I never thought I’d see such a thing, and we haven’t even arrived yet!”
Thorin’s sword hits the ground with a clatter, and Balin chokes on his pipe.
The hobbit doesn’t look at Thorin, too busy thumping Balin on the back. Once the dwarf seems able to breathe again, he looks up, to find thirteen wide pairs of eyes fixed on him.
“What?” he says defensively, though he’s not sure what he’s defending.
“You’re how old?” Kíli squeaks.
Bilbo frowns at the young dwarf. “I’m fifty years old. Well, fifty-one, come springtime. Though it is not very polite to ask someone their age so bluntly,” he tells him primly.
Fíli makes a choked sound, and Nori lets out a vicious string of swears in Khuzdul.

Summary
”Listen here, you—“ Thorin hisses something in Khuzdul at the hobbit— something Bilbo could at least say for sure was an insult.
“Bilbo Baggins set out with my company to reclaim my kingdom. If he is dead as you say so, then I would rather die before letting you desecrate his honor by selling off his spoons!”
“Set out— Company—“ Tosser sputters. “No one is desecrating none’s honour here, Mr. Dwarf. This is a family matter. Late Mr Baggin’s left no will, you see.”
That gives Thorin a pause but he doesn’t take long to recover. The dwarf takes a step forward, gripping his sword and—

“You’re going to make me say it, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” Legolas says, barely more than a whisper. “I need to hear you say it.”
For a moment, he wonders if Gimli is going to back down. He wonders if the thought crosses Gimli’s mind, too. But then Gimli meets his eyes and looks at him in a way Legolas might only think to describe as intent.
Or, Legolas and Gimli are able to slip away amidst Rohan's preparation for the Battle of Helm's Deep.

Summary
The golden lamps of the royal dining hall cast a warm, amber glow over the table, but the atmosphere in the corridors of Erebor was far from peaceful. For months, a low-level murmur of dissent had been brewing in the darker corners of the mountain. Most of the kingdom adored their Hobbit Consort, the "Luck-wearer" who had helped reclaim their home. But one particular nobleman, Lord Bruni, a traditionalist with a heart as cold as the stone he mined, could not stand the sight of a Halfling wearing a crown of Mithril. To him, Bilbo Baggins was a soft, power-hungry intruder who had bewitched the King.
Bruni had decided that the "Hobbit problem" required a permanent solution. He hadn't just used a drop of poison; he had used enough to fell a dragon.
