A character, after all, is nothing but a toy for the author and the observers to twist however they wish. It is an object made to receive admiration, a vessel to continue a story, and a tool to be used. Amami fits the part perfectly.
“Well, you’re the same, aren't you?” he had asked her, smile curled a little bit too far. “I’ve lost track of how many grisly deaths you’ve been through.”
“I do it because I love Danganronpa,” Shirogane had shot back. “But you don't love anything.”
Amami shook his head. “You don't love Danganronpa,” he said. “You love anything that will distract you from your own mediocrity.”
Shirogane has only ever wanted to be nothing but fiction. This is precisely why Amami Rantaro had to die.

some of the most stunning prose i've ever read. op's imagination is amazing. my god i could eat the figurative language in this forever; the writing style is AMAZING at conveying the murky memories of a deeply traumatized child and it just makes me so emotional. top ten fic series that made me feel bad for doing a no mercy run + incredible chara voice + amazing portrayal of frisk, chara, and flowey's relationships with each other [and of the characters themselves actually]. i find myself coming back to parts 2 and 3 of this series a lot, but every fic here makes me want to chew on woodchips (in a good way)... i really love this
