Summary
There are, Sam has found, a number of things he does enjoy about being Cap. Saving people, sure. The suit, well that thing’s pretty sweet. The hordes of fawning admirers that absolutely do exist, no matter what Bucky says to the contrary? They’re not so bad either.
And there are things he enjoys less. Spending too much time in stuffy rooms around large tables where everyone just talks circles around one another. Living in a world where he has to be a voice for the voiceless, because no one else will be. Wreaking violence on a near-daily basis, because that seems to be the only language some people understand.
And there are things he really cannot stand. Like today. The saving innocent civilians, that’s alright. The doing violence to violent people, he can live with. But the having to sit here, pretending not to care while someone beats up his partner/co-worker/guy with a mutual friend right in front of him? Yeah. He’s over this shit.

“What do you mean?” Sam demands, tone hushed so as not to attract attention (Bucky’s suddenly glad Sarah sent the kids off already) but just as adamant as always. “You didn’t eat food for seventy years? Even for a super soldier, that’s—that’d kill you.”
Bucky blinks. Mentally goes back through the course of their conversation, reeling just a little. “Uh,” he says, ever-eloquent. Looks to Sarah for help, and finds she’s leaned in, elbows on the table, equally interested in his answer. “Not—I didn’t eat food, per se.”
He thinks of the tubes, the drips, the liquids. The—the rats, in the early days. Decides he probably shouldn’t go on, but Sam hasn’t dropped the subject and doesn’t look like he’s going to. There’s this strange, stormy look on his face, one Bucky’s only seen once, in that room with Selby and Zemo.//
the Wilsons (and, by extension, all citizens of Delacroix) find out about Bucky’s diet when he was with HYDRA.

Then as Lucanis’ world had come crashing down back at the Diamond, Rook had been there, steadfast in his sincerity. That kindness festers in Lucanis’ mind, still raw from a year of betrayal and torture. It doesn’t help that Spite picks at it like an open wound, pushing harder and harder for Lucanis to seek Rook out.
_____Lucanis' life has been thrown into disarray. All he has left is a contract for blighted gods, and a Crow with a specific kind of optimism.

“This.” He gestured vaguely at the entire tower. Yelena paused, already considering the many scenarios that could play out just how he'd described. But then there were also plenty that wouldn't.
His hands trembled slightly as he chopped, the sound less frequent and rhythmic as it usually was. Yelena still couldn't quite wrap her head around what was actually going on, but she figured that if he wanted to, he'd share.
He didn't, and they all ended up eating in silence.
