Summary
Maitimo was the one most commonly used in the family, but there was no way Turukáno would willingly pay a compliment to Fëanáro’s son. He had enough people fawning over him already. It was bad enough that Turukáno called him Maitimo in his head to train himself out of referring to him as that bastard. It would not do to have a fateful slip of the tongue.
Turukáno doesn't know how to address his eldest cousin.

so lighthearted and funny! Fr though, that boy has some weird names. If I were beefing with him, I also would hate all available options.

Summary
A monarch cannot be a private person. In many ways, they exist only as a public persona - and more than one prince might assume that persona. In times of crisis people are not particularly inclined to question such things. After all: there must always be a king.

Tuor had laughed outright, when this suggestion was first made to him. He had stopped only when he realised Círdan had not intended it to be a joke.
“We can’t just pretend that Artanáro is still alive.” he objected. “People will notice.”
“They will accept it if it comforts them,” countered Círdan, refusing to acknowledge that he well knew how ridiculous this charade would be. “Besides,” he went on, tired. “I suspect it would not be the first time.”
