Summary
We pick up after Buffy's first encounter with Glory, when she's just learned about the truth about her sister Dawn. This is a slow, slow burn Spuffy fic with scenes centered around those two. The first canon divergence is simple -- Spike encounters Buffy on her way home after getting pummeled by Glory and having a bomb dropped on her by the dying monk. He is struggling with accepting his feelings for her, but ends up trying a slightly less unhinged approach to building trust and winning her affections. The road is long and winding, and honestly this started as a single scene where Spike cheers Joyce and Dawn up by dancing with them and then it just... got away from me.

But Oxford has 49 cemeteries and a thousand years of demons, and there are strange voices drifting through the halls of St Drusilla's, and in a small tower room in a part of the college that no one should be able to access, there's a handsome man with pale white hair scribbling poetry, and he seems to know her name somehow.
