“So,” Steve echoes. He’s learned that’s the response people expect when they make a whole sentence out of one overly drawn out word and he knows, the same way he knows every inch of his shield, that Natasha isn’t going to answer.
“So,” Sam starts again and Steve is just close enough to see the way the corner of his mouth quirks up into a grin, “how well can you two see the street as a whole?”
“I’ve got eyes on the whole street,” Natasha answers shortly.
Sam almost laughs, lips twitching as Steve watches him duck his head toward his coffee. “So you can see that fucking billboard then, right? Or am I going crazy hanging out with you two?”
“It’s not Hydra,” Natasha says, just as Steve spots the damn thing. “And it would probably be more apt to say it’s aimed at Steve, not us.”
