Summary
Daiyōkai typically viewed their beasts as an inner-voice, a sort of conscience that was a mere extension of themselves. To Sesshōmaru, though, his beast was a separate entity. Two minds housed within the same body, dominance dictated by their form but nevertheless, both minds always active, always present, equally vocal and opinionated.
The form only changed which mind was able to make the final decision, but that had never been an issue. Their final decision had never been locked in a stalemate, both minds always finding compromise or agreement. Nine centuries it remained that way. It took less than half of a decade for it all to fall apart.
Sesshōmaru's beast wanted the miko. When he watched her fall into the meido after Naraku's death, the daiyōkai's resistance to go after her would result in a power struggle for dominance over their body... one which Sesshōmaru would lose.☆。*。☆。
