Jonathan wasn’t stupid.
He didn’t say much, and his words never came out with much value. He didn’t have Nancy’s talent or even Argyle’s way of metaphorizing something to make it understandable.
But he had eyes. he saw the way that Mike’s tracked every move will made, whether it was intentional or not. Jonathan noticed the warmth in his eyes, the relaxation in his features every time Will so much as sat next to him on purpose. He always had.
And yet, Jonathan noticed the way Mike kept him at arm’s length, the way he got equally as upset when Will kept the distance.Jon noticed the way his brother’s eyes welled with unshed tears, and the way Mike didn’t even notice. .
Jonathan didn’t need to be good with words to know Mike broke his brother’s heart.
