Summary
A Butterfly takes flight when it shouldn't have. The cascading changes to the timeline result in the conquest of Ba Sing Se and the Dragon of the West returning home an unchanged man.
4 years later things are a bit different. A disgraced princess hunts the Avatar, the Mad King of Omashu and his allies in the Northern Water Tribe fight a losing war as best they can, and the Fire Nation is run with a far more efficient sort of evil.

In a Universe that is a little less kind -and so much softer all at once- it only takes Zuko eleven years and a couple of thoughtless words to piss his father off so bad, he's banished before he knows it. Banished and saddled with an Uncle who thinks about tea, and speaks in proverbs, and has no idea that he's technically banished too.
