Summary
Still, Horne, a tall beta man despite his “little” moniker, is something of a stickler for rules. This character trait juxtaposes pleasingly with the extravagant capriciousness of that most alpha of alphas, the Taskmaster himself, played by Greg Davies. The dynamic between the two works most effectively as, of course, we are all hanging on the pleasure of the Taskmaster, who treats everyone with the same cruel disaffection regardless of career, secondary or primary gender, or ability. “It works because nobody expects it of him,” says Horne, “But I think everyone likes that, secretly. That alpha urge to be mean, to be nasty. It’s very satisfying to watch. To participate in.”

Summary
Alex wasn’t usually suspicious by nature, but while once or twice could be dismissed as coincidence, there had been more times than that that Greg and John had been, elusively, not free.
Which made it a pattern, and Alex had a healthy scepticism for patterns with no discernible explanation.
Greg and John knew each other, of course, the way everyone on the circuit knew each other, and series 17 of Taskmaster had wrapped a few weeks prior so knew each other even better now. But they weren’t mates, never had been, so to have something scheduled that they were seemingly both attending without him raised many questions for Alex.
And without any hint to an answer, his imagination had an unfortunate tendency to run wild.

Summary
It's four years after the world ended. A horrific fungal parasite swept the planet, turning anyone infected into a mindless, murderous, monster - and the survivors do what they can to keep living. Greg and Alex have turned the Taskmaster House into their refuge, but when a request for help comes through the radio, they head out to the nearby abandoned National Archives building - and what starts as a beautiful, if lonely and overgrown, summer's day turns into Greg's worst possible nightmare.
Face to what-was-once-face, the thing – the almost-human – cricks its neck, tilts its face, the click-click-click of its sounds feeling out the shape of Alex’s gas-masked head.
Then, tendrils. Like white smoke rising from a deadly fire, a slow, branching cloud of them slithers through the still air. Closer and closer to Alex – towards the bare skin of his neck, the open shell of his ears, the red-and-sweating edge of his hairline where the black rubber ends.
