Summary
He was surprised to see Bucky standing there, his own eyes red and a little puffy. Steve opened his mouth to ask how long he'd been there but instead crumpled again and pushed himself into Bucky's space, leaning against him, crying and gripping onto Bucky's shirt. Bucky wrapped his arms around Steve and just held him for a while.
Steve deals with his mother's death, and Bucky is there for him, as always.

Summary
Steve decided he didn’t want to keep putting off the conversation that needed to happen between them. If Bucky didn’t want to be with him, he needed to know. Steve just couldn’t stand the holding pattern between them anymore.
Then Steve remembered so many times throughout their lives when words weren’t necessary. A touch, a kiss, a hug, a look, they could communicate rather effectively without a sound. So Steve decided to take a leap of faith.
Steve needs to make a decision, so he talks it out with Bucky. Plus flashback/memory interludes.

Summary
They take a moment to just look at each other, unable to keep the grins off of their faces before pressing their lips together again. Bucky lets his tongue explore Steve’s mouth and he feels Steve’s arms wrap around him, holding him there tightly. He soon finds himself on his back and Steve on top of him. Steve lowers his lips to rest against Bucky's ear. "I wasn't lying when I said I wanted to fuck you against a wall."
Steve has just rescued Bucky from a Hydra prison camp (as well as a few hundred other men) and they have some catching up they need to do.

Summary
Steve found an envelope filled with pictures in one of the boxes that he hadn’t remembered putting in the box. He sat down and started going through them; they were pictures from his childhood, him and Bucky as kids, a couple pictures of his parents before his dad died, pictures of Steve with his mom when he was young, pictures from Christmases and birthdays and random shots with no special meaning other than a just a memory of his life.
Just a cute domestic scene of Steve and Bucky moving Steve into Bucky's apartment.

Pepper, who up until this point had been carrying Morgan on her hip, put her down and bent to talk to her. “Will you go play with Uncle Steve? I need to talk to a friend.” Morgan looked over at Bucky curiously and then back to her mom and nodded. Pepper gave her a quick kiss on her forehead before she ran over to Steve, grabbing his hand and tugging him to go back outside.
Pepper comes over to talk to Bucky. (Basically my explanation for why Bucky was at Tony's funeral, when.. ya know.)

He walked over and pushed the door open a little, a bit of worry still clinging to him. He had to quickly slap his hand over his mouth to muffle his laughter.
Steve catches Bucky and makes a video. Sam (possibly) dies of laughter.

Eventually, Steve reaches a large, high wall blocking the path forward. There is no door, no gate. No way in. Is this the end of the line? Steve pounds his fists against the wall and screams. No one answers. He keeps pounding till his hands are bloody and he collapses to his knees. Tears well up in his eyes. Bucky is beyond the wall, he knows it. He feels it. He has to get through. Just hold on, wait for me.
Bit of stream of consciousness, Steve's mind trying to work through trauma and cope with Bucky's death.

They weren’t together again, not like they were before the ice and the torture. And they certainly didn’t talk about the past either, or at least not about what they used to be. Mostly because Bucky tried to keep Steve at arms length. It was a lot of quiet companionship, marveling at the insanity of the future and the beauty of the country keeping Bucky safe from the rest of the world. Or keeping the rest of the world safe from Bucky. Sometimes it felt like both.
Steve and Bucky in Wakanda, trying to figure out what they are now after everything. And being utterly terrible at admitting actual feelings.
