“What… is Sam to you, exactly?” His words were quiet, cautious.
Helen presses her lips together for a moment, studying the planes of Wallace’s face as she thought how to answer. His fingers running slowly over her arm were grounding, kept her from drifting too far.
“Have I ever told you about my family?” She asked finally, the words coming slower than she liked, more stilted than she normally allowed.
Wallace shook his head slightly, “No, you’ve only said you don’t really…”
“Have a family?” She finished for him, smiling faintly at his hesitance to say it so bluntly. He really was a gentleman.
Wallace nodded mutely, studying her as intensely as she was him though his gaze was more curious, softer.
“My family was complicated, but essentially yes, I had no family before you and the kids,” she takes a deep breath before she says, “But I had Sam.” -

Summary
In the chaos of the rescue mission, Foolish barely registered anything. His focus was split, attention frayed and all over the place up until the moment the kids were in his line of sight.
Noise exploded in his ears as the islanders yelled out to their kids but Foolish’s world had narrowed to only his family.
Richarlyson was in a small cell with Ramon and Dapper, he looked unharmed if tired. Pepito was in another, curled against the wall.
And then Leo, his perfect daughter, slumped against him.
“Leo!” He yelled, voice joining the cries of the others.
As if hearing only his voice, Leo’s eyes darted up from the ground towards him. They widened.
“Pa?!” Amongst the cacophony of noise, he could only hear her, “Pa!” -

Summary
One of my new years resolutions in 2026 was to write a little every day and, while I don't think I'll post everything I write I will probably post most of it. Because I think a lot of it will be shorter and less polished pieces posted more frequently, I wanted an account to just post all my random nonsense for the year and not spam anyone subscribed to my main acc.
This is mostly for me, but I hope anyone who reads any of these fics I write in 2026 enjoys them!
