Simon Riley gets medically discharged and it breaks him. He loses touch with the rest of the 141 over time, not that he doesn't try to stay in touch. He tries, but sometimes the smallest things are too much. Ghost no longer exists, and after receiving much needed help, Simon Riley is finally alive to live a life he never though he would have. While he wants to reach out, he's no longer the lieutenant they knew. He can't be the person they knew, not again. 13 years pass before he takes another big step in his life; dating. Specifically online dating. A few terrible dates and several weird ice breakers in his dms later, someone catches his eye with a joke.

Ochisia, “the fear that the role you once occupied in someone’s life could be refilled without a second thought, which makes you wish that every breakup would include a severance package, a non-complete clause, and some sort of romantic placement program.”After a successful mission, the team stumbles upon Gary Roach Sanderson, a sergeant thought to have died years ago after a betrayal. Ghost had survived that incident but carried the guilt until meeting Soap, where he had learned to forgive himself. However, upon finding Roach, he begins to withdraw from Soap, and unfortunately the team follows suit unknowingly. As any good team, they simply want to help Roach and ensure his safety and progress. They all knew him of course, all but Soap.

Summary
Scott Goldsmith was not a kind or empathetic person. Not in the slightest. But even he was not completely without emotional intelligence.
Just because he did not care for most people or feel remorse for the lives of humans he had slain doesn't mean he can't at least recognise another person’s feelings.
Sure, he most likely would never care for them, as what other people felt was never even close to his priorities or even interests. Even when he knows the emotions of another, he normally never would comfort or even acknowledge them.
But even he had a limit.Or
Scott noticed Owen's change in goals at the end of Episode 5, and instead of letting the vendetta rot, decides to talk to Owen. He puts his foot down and tries to hold the torn seams that hold their alliance together. Scott sits the vampire down for a talk, since NONE OF THE SHIT THAT HAS HAPPENED WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THESE BITCHES JUST LEARNED TO COMMUNICATE!!!
