Summary
Once, in this very universe, you could say, Alternia was home to a peaceful race. Trollkind had never known the corrupting influence in their evolution which led them to perpetual war and violence... As was true of the bellicose world we know, there came to be twelve heroes on this peaceful planet. These heroes too had twelve ancestors whose fortunes were entwined with theirs.
The collected stories of the Ancestors of Beforus, revealed and commented upon by their descendants and alternate selves.

Bookmarker's Notes
Every so often I think about the Beforan Ancestors and lose my mind. We know so much about them for characters who are literally never mentioned or alluded to as individuals (other than Feferi).
This isn't the only way you could conceptualize Beforus, but it meshes perfectly with what we do know about their descendants, post-Scratch counterparts, and dancestors. There were several points where a pairing or dynamic felt odd until I remembered (for example) "This isn't just Aradia, this is Damara's Ancestor" or "He might be Rufioh's ancestor, but he is in fact Tavros" and everything made sense. The author was very smart about choosing which elements to include where, and making the whole thing feel like its own standalone story that happens to rhyme with the three we already know. There's also a decent amount of Moses imagery to tie into the Signless' Jesus imagery.
The post-retjohn meteor crew characterization is also excellent. In general, the author has a very solid understanding of all 36 relevant trolls (plus Rose and Dave) and what makes them tick. I love how no one was 100% morally pure all the time but also no one was pure evil for the sake of evil. The Makara characterization in particular was masterfully done.
Very good story! Dark without being bleak. Lovely handle on troll romance and its intricacies (especially the pale quadrant). Quality pacing.

Summary
Barry had four rules for himself, to keep himself on track and focused on saving the world. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't break them, or he risked bringing about the end of everything.
Rule one: He could not lose control.
Rule two: He could not give up in his search for Lup.
Rule three: He could not let Lucretia go through with her plan.
And finally, probably the hardest one to keep by far,Rule four: He could not see his family.
Attacking a cooking show assistant in the back of a small caravan, Barry blows his last rule out of the goddamn water. And then he keeps breaking it. It might just be worth it though. Even without his memories, Barry could use Taako's help now more than ever.

Summary
To be fair, when the Portland Flotsam had published the article about Don Pines running for mayor, they had intended it as a satire on the quality of the candidates that were actually running for election. They did not anticipate the sheer number of people who took it to mean that Portland's local mob boss was seeking municipal office.
The large banner that was strung up outside their offices declaring support for Hank Pines as Mayor of Portland came as a complete surprise. It was the first they had heard that Hank Pines was actually in the running to become Mayor.
It also how Hank Pines himself became aware of this fact.

I love Hank. Portland man insists he isn't a mob boss, genuinely believes he isn't a mob boss, is very much a mob boss. This whole situation is so funny.
Transcendence AU context for anyone who doesn't know: Hank is Mable's son. Around Dipper and Mabel's 13th birthday, an event called the Transcendence happened, the practical effect being that the weirdness bubble around Gravity Falls broke, and now there are supernatural creatures and effects everywhere. It's been a few decades and people are still adjusting.
Hank moved to Portland as an adult and started networking with the supernatural beings there, doing community outreach, helping people out, etc. He insists that the Dinner Crew isn't a mafia. No one believes him. His friends and family find the whole thing hilarious. -

Area Time Lord mourns his best friend so hard he accidentally steals their identity.
This series is so well constructed. It's a fantastic mix of episode rewrites and original stories that fill a similar thematic role to the canon episodes they replace. Great worldbuilding and xenobiology. The episode rewrites aren't just "everything is the same but the names and physical descriptions are changed", having Koschei there instead of Theta impacts the plot. Nothing happens just because it happened in canon; everything is grounded in the actual world as presented. Really well written. -

Summary
Adam knocked on the door and waited. And waited. And waited. He knocked again, and then it opened to Sam brandishing a gun, Dean behind him with a knife and a bottle of whiskey. When they saw him, they didn’t relax, but they didn’t attack either.
“Adam?” Sam asked, hesitantly. “Or… Michael?”
Adam knew he had to look ridiculous. Before, they’d seen him while he still had an archangel maintaining his body, but after the last day and a half? He was sweaty and sunburnt and dehydrated and he could almost feel the bags under his eyes. But another gift of the Cage was losing the ability to give a fuck what he looked like.
“Michael isn't home right now,” Adam said. “And I’d like to know why.”

Bookmarker's Notes
Really well written, impeccable characterization.
Adam is (justifiably) Not Happy with Cas+the Winchesters and will probably never forgive them but it doesn't devolve into character bashing.
This is canon compliant and no one can prove that it isn't how the story went post-finale. :) -

Bookmarker's Notes
Starts off as a time travel fix-it (from Knock Out's pov, making it mostly a Breakdown lives AU), but things quickly snowball. Lots of world building, characters brought in from other continuities as needed, and some really interesting character arcs! Excellent grasp on character motivations and personalities.
Most of the characters don't know that time travel is a thing (poor Soundwave spends most of the story in crisis over his predictive skills failing), and Knock Out either didn't know about or wasn't paying attention to half the things that happened in canon, so everyone reacts to things as they happen rather than trying to repeat what they did in another timeline.
This series contains:
- Miko with explosives
- Soundwave as a cat
- Dreadwing projecting his issues all over the vehicons
- Queen June Darby
- Carly Spencer with actual characterization and agency
- Windblade getting mad at a billboard
- spy vs spy shenanigans
- so many character interactions you didn't know you wanted -

Bookmarker's Notes
The characterization and world building in this is impeccable. All of the characters stand out as individuals despite most of them being variations on the same guy. No less than five characters of varying levels of importance to the story have the same name without it being confusing. The antagonist is both sympathetic and genuinely threatening. One of the major supporting characters is technically canon but only appeared as an incredibly minor character for about five minutes total before never being mentioned again, which I find very funny. The fight scenes are all unique and help with both plot progression and character development. All of the characters have their own priorities and motives, which interact in fun ways. The story is complicated and unpredictable but still easy to follow and well foreshadowed. If you like clones, time shenanigans, redemption arcs, and well developed OCs that still don't steal the spotlight from the main protagonists you will enjoy this fic

N’Jadaka didn’t believe in the gods of his people. But belief was not a prerequisite of the gods’ attention, and the blood of the Panther tribe ran in N’Jadaka’s veins. Bast took hold of his soul in her mighty jaws and lifted it free of his body. She gave him a warning shake, just as she would a misbehaving kitten, and set him back. With one careful claw, she tweaked his path through time into a twisting loop. Wayward and abandoned though he was, N’Jadaka was still of her tribe. He could set things right, if given the chance.

Excellent character study. The author has a very solid understanding of Erik's goals, motivations, and the gaps between the two. Erik learns and develops but he never becomes a completely different character; the evolution feels natural. All of the characters have their own views and opinions to present for consideration. The writing is also excellent.

Have I ever read the Dresden Files? No. Do I know what the Dresden Files are about? Kind of. Was I really into Welcome to Night Vale circa 2013-2015? Weren't we all?
Anyway this is a really good fic where Carlos the Scientist is secretly a wizard. It's fully canon compliant through the entire Strex arc, so there's no proof he wasn't secretly running off to decapitate rogue warlocks or fight fish monsters in LA between episodes.
Also, I love the scientist OCs. -
