Fans have been speculating ever since Kevin Day and Thea Muldani announced their engagement as to who Day would ask to be by his side. Many discounted fox involvement entirely, suggesting fellow famous exy players such as Jeremy Knox, Jean Moreau, or even Marcus Jameson. The few that speculated that either Andrew Minyard or Neil Josten would be chosen were stoutly supportive of one and discounted the other. Who could have foreseen that Day would choose both! Summary
When Neil was fourteen, his father caught up to them in Seattle and he got separated from Mary. Unfortunately, neither of them escaped unscathed, but they did escape despite all the odds. They manage to reunite at one of their emergency rendezvous and take off running.
That's where their luck ran out though because they only made it to California before Mary's injuries finally bested her. In the end, his mother couldn't go on but she made Neil promise to keep running because one of them had to make it. With no other choice, Neil burned her body, buried her ashes on the beach, and did what he had promised.
Then, impossibly, things went from bad to worse — After a month of just sort of drifting in his grief, Neil found out he was pregnant.

Then Minho and Frypan climb up and join them, and they sit there together, their tight-knit group of Gladers, watching the camp like loyal sentinels. Everything feels right in the world, just for a moment. And Thomas can’t stop his gaze from straying to Newt, the boy in the wind.

“The church.” Will said firmly.
The building radiated with a sort of holy innocence, looking almost untouched and definitely out of place in the Upside Down. Will jiggled the front door handle and groaned. “Locked.” He thought for a moment. “Stand back, Mike.”
Mike did, watching Will back up a few feet. “What are you-”
Will began in a running start before throwing the weight of his body against the door with a bang. The door swung open but Will kept his balance, wincing. “That was loud. And kind of stupid.”
“Are you kidding me?” Mike stared at him in a sort of awe. “I’ve only ever seen people do that in movies. Holy shit. That was epic.”
“Oh shut up.” Will blushed. “It was nothing.” As they made their way into the church, Will took off his jacket, slinging it over his shoulder and stretching out his arm. Mike watched the muscles in his back strain against his t-shirt, his biceps and lats bulge from the simple stretch. Mike swallowed, hard.
“Hey, it’s not too bad in here.”

“What?” Murray exclaimed. “Falling out of love is not the reason El broke up with you.”OR: Mike and Will get Murray’d and deal with the consequences.

"Children, children, CHILDREN!" Murray finally snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose. The three of them shut up and looked at him in shock. "Enough of this pointless, childish bickering already. If I wanted to watch drama like this I would turn on a soap opera or telenovela. My god, do I have to play therapist to EVERYONE in this group?? I could sue you all for emotional compensation!"
Mike started to argue. He didn't know what he was going to say, exactly, but he was still pent up and Murray seemed like a better target than his two best friends. Unfortunately he didn't get very far.
"Ba-ba-ba! NO. Shut up and SIT DOWN. It's my turn to talk," Murray said forcefully, shoving the three of them onto the couch, with Mike somehow ending up in the middle.
"Oh no," Jonathan said under his breath.
"Shit," Nancy said at the same time.
Joyce hurried forward and stepped in between them. "Murray, Murray, no," she pleaded. "I know what you're doing, STOP."
Or: Murray meddles, Mike is hella confused, the world is ending, and Will won't talk to him.
OR: Mike runs away from his feelings and then for his actual, literal life.
