So when a student drops out of their study abroad slot at the last minute, Jayce decides to sign up, and within 24 hours finds himself in Prague.
With only two weeks left of his trip he runs into a man named Viktor in a bar. Two long weeks of stolen glances, lost touches, and despicable yearning Jayce has to decide if he's going to go back to his life and everything he knows including his family, degree, and fiancee, or throw it all away for a man he’s only known for a fortnight.

“Worse than last time?” Jayce posits a guess.
“It’s, eh-” Viktor shrugs. Tilts his chin this way and that. A tsk. “Bearable. I’ve endured worse hangovers in college.” he was going for a laugh, but the punchline never truly lands. Instead, Jayce’s thumb rubs softly into the back of his palm, pressing like he wants to idle the muscle mass into something new. It’s such a small thing, whatever this is, and yet it steadies the flow of his blood; the relief of loosening a valve, flicking off a pressure switch. It’s the necessary cracking-open of his breast. Jayce squeezes. Viktor allows himself the luxury of a sigh. “You shouldn’t be here.” he mutters.
Jayce reflexively shakes his head. “I took the day off.”
“We both know that’s-”
“—I could take the week.” he insists, almost a threat, a flicker of that eternal stubbornness coursing through him.

His mouth wore a smile but he seemed to be thousands of yards away behind his eyes. Gale never wanted to see him like that. Since then, Gale had made it his unilateral mission to make sure Astarion never wanted for anything again.
