With the darkness of the storm, and the warm, glowing backlight pouring from inside the house, it’s almost easy to make out one of the cats loafing in the windowsill, watching Jon as he moves around their living room—
Though, Martin’s not entirely sure what it is he’s doing, exactly.
He watches with curiosity, observing the strange way Jon seems to be moving in circuits. At first, he’s nearly nervous— nearly scared— but it’s not an unnatural movement, he realizes after a moment. It’s patterned. It’s rhythmic.
Then, Jon turns, his silhouette changing, and Martin realizes one of the children is on his hip, held in his arms as he moves, and a small laugh bubbles up and out of him.
Dancing. Jon is dancing.
or: Martin has a very long day. coming home to Jon and their family helps tremendously, especially when he realizes what they’re up to.
