Summary
After the battle against Adam, Alastor is wounded and hides from the other hotel residents. His constitution doesn’t go completely unnoticed however and Lucifer steps in just in time.

Alastor kept his back to the king, knowing full well how pale he looked.
“You do realize that’s not going to go away on its own, right? It will continue to eat away at you, depleting you more and more of your energy until you feel like you’re burning alive. I bet you already feel like that half the time, don’t you?” Lucifer continued on conversationally, as if he were talking about the weather. He poured himself a cup of coffee as well. “Hmmm…. Let’s see.” Lucifer said, taking a sip. And without further forewarning, he pushed himself between the counter and in front of Alastor, placing his hand right on his chest.

A day later Lucifer stepped up next to him again. “How much longer do you think you have?” He asked, just as Alastor poured himself a cup of coffee in the kitchen.
Alastor closed his eyes, reaching up to his bare chest, tracing the new scar.
“Can’t make that go away.” Lucifer’s voice cut through the silence. “Fits in well with the rest, though. What on earth did you do to get these? Get mauled by a pack of rabid dogs?” He laughed at his own joke, stopping abruptly when he noticed Alastor’s wide eyes.
“Ha!” Alastor breathed out, grin back in place, turning more into an angry flashing of teeth, brows narrowing.
“Oh? What? That's what did you in?” Lucifer couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
“No.” Alastor said coolly, still lying on his back, looking right at Lucifer as he pointed his fingers in a gun position at his head. “That would have been the gunshot.” He ticked his hand, then let it drop to his side.
He already hit rock bottom. What matter did it make to tell the devil how he died?
Lucifer did him the favor of not looking at him with pity.
“Huh,” was all he said. Then followed it up with, “then what are those scars from?”
“... a pack of dogs.”
Lucifer blinked, Alastor sighed, in his mind, careful to keep his expression controlled.
Lucifer laughed. First, he snorted. Then chucked, then full out laughed at the ridiculous situation they found themselves in.

Still, with the days passing and more and more lyrics filling the sheet over every little exchange with its muse, it didn't seem like the song would help Dylan to make any progress, especially when his words stayed carefully hidden inside of his head — and maybe his laptop.

Summary
In The Avengers, Natasha Romanova says "Love is for children." It's an expression of life as she knows it, and fits the harsh background most of the Avengers have experienced. Trouble is, people don't do very well without love. In particular it's impossible to form a good team if the members don't care about each other.
So Phil Coulson comes up with a teambuilding exercise to resolve that problem. If love is for children ... then he'll arrange that experience for them. The result is an exploration of nonsexual ageplay to allow a group of very powerful, very broken people to patch up some of the gaps in their lives.
Most of the stories are very sweet in tone and make for good comfort reading. However, canon gives these characters some very unpleasant pasts, and that comes up as they process the aftermath. So the tone does vary, and some stories are more intense than others. They deal with different characters, relationships, and sensitive issues.
Some folks have avoided this series for fear that it goes into sexual territory; it doesn't. Same with embarrassment, very low on that.
